2104 : Disappearance of Peret

Since his return to the stage in 1992, the success of Peret, one of the fathers of Catalan rumba, had not waned. He had become a living legend, always ready to play with the younger generations of musicians.

He died in 2014, in Barcelona, at the age of 79, and his funeral, attended by nearly 10,000 people, was celebrated with music, according to his last wish. His homily had to be musical, he himself had chosen one of his greatest successes, “El muerto Vivo”, a nose-thumbing at death, which he sang at the beginning, in 1965. Immortal.

Como no volvía a su casa todos le daban por muerto
Y no estaba muerto, no, no
Y no estaba muerto, no, no
Y no estaba muerto, no, no
